WHAT SOFTWARE CAN I USE?

i have been looking for a software that can compress my files. i have read a lot about winzip and winrar but then, when i used them to compress my files, it does not reduce the size of the files that much. Its like i have only put them into a folder.Can you please show me a software that i can use to compress my files and reduce the size greatly?

Winzip is good in compressing, but you don't really need it if you have Windows XP or higher, because they have zip built in already. Winrar supports more compression methods. A lot of third-party compressing programs (like Tugzip or 7Zip) do also.

Alas, some filetypes already ARE compressed internally, so can't be compressed any more. It seems the files you're trying to compress are such files. But you forgot to tell, so we can't be sure of that.
