Windows 7 32Bit or 64Bit for my Acer 6920G?

I have an Acer 6920G and am fed up with Vista. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 but am not sure which version to get (32Bit or 64Bit)?

What's the difference between them?

The specs of my 6920G are:

Intel Core Duo T5800 processor (2Ghz)

3GB DDR2 Ram

Any help greatly appreciated.

There isn't much difference between them that you'd notice. If you plan on upgrading your memory though then definitely consider 64-bit. I personally use 64-bit, even with 3GB of memory though and things work identically to the 32-bit version.

I just installed windows 7 today on my acer 6920g.

I would go for 32-bit.

The reason is that the maxium memory on this laptop is 4GB and its a DDR2 supported. Due to this I would stick with 32 bit as you will won't notice any difference. There are benefits of 32 bit as well, like more support in programs. Unless you have a DDR3, i really wouldn't bother.

1. DDR2 or DDR3 memory has nothing to do with Windows version.

2. All 32bit apps work on 64bit but not the other way around.

3. There's no point in buying what in essence is a legacy version if you're buying box

so true

i have been running 64bit since 2007 and havent had any problems

so i see no reason to use 32bit

i even had 64bit win7 on my old 2gb laptop with ddr2 and it ran great

it about time to let 32bit die

I tried to install 64 bit Windows 7 on my 9810 and it had drivers issues. I installed 32 bit and basically all the drivers were updated via Windows update. Acer only has Vista and XP drivers on their website for downloads and those have a 08 date.
